This is a review of a Mighty Event called Beach Gathering held at Budle Bay over the August Bank Holiday weekend 2024

Let's be honest, there are few facilities here. There are no toilets, one tap that supplies water (that has to be boiled before you can drink it) and an area for the disposal of waste water from caravans and campervans. That's it.

On the plus side, what it does have is a fantastic view over Budle Bay and further on towards Holy Island. Sunset views can be spectacular here. The campsite upper field slopes gently down towards the beach so you may need levelling ramps for the campervans etc. The lower field is fairly flat. It is an easy walk to be beach.

I attended a private Beach Gathering Event here over the August Bank Holiday weekend, organised by an Events Company called Mighty Events. All entrance tickets had to be pre-booked via their website. You showed your ticket at the entrance to gain admittance. Portaloo toilets were organised by this company and serviced regularly and there were free showers too - a nice touch. It was advertised a a chill event. The organisers came round the site around 10p.m. and asked anybody playing music that disturbed other campers to turn it down.

There are bus stops on the road directly outside the campsite with buses to Belford, Bamburgh, Seahouses and further afield.

There is no Wi-Fi but my phone picked up a 4G signal here so was not totally cut off from the outside world.

Wood fires are allowed on the site but cannot be built on the ground. They have to be in portable fire pits and the like. The organisers also had firewood for sale too.

All in all, a nice relaxed weekend. I will be booking again for next year (and praying for less wind and rain too)
