Went for a family walk around the park the Halloween event was very good and free in the woods we enjoyed looking at the different things in the trees. We used the cafe in the pear tree garden this was very good really enjoyed the cakes and coffee.

Beautiful gardens and grounds. Excellent exhibition of film and TV costumes. Friendly staff and a lovely wee café serving delicious food and coffee. Free to enter museum, donation if able. Charge for car park.

A gem, if you like preserved homes and walled gardens. Plus quite a bit of land surrounding with trails and walkways. Currently there are clothes from some famous films and TV shows. Entry is free and parking is also free for those with blue badge. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Wanted to go in this museum but have always had the dogs with us ( no dogs in the museum.) Free to get in with a donation box if you wish to add a contribution.
Lots of lovely original features of the house with bits of more modern houseware thrown in too. We prefer the really old furnishings, so the more modern stuff was a bit overlooked by us but will appear to some. A lot bigger inside than I anticipated with the floor space well utilised.
Museum staff were on hand to explain anything people wanted to know and plenty of signs that explained about a lot of the history of the house and its occupants.
We spent about 45 minutes in here but could have spent longer if we had read all the information available ( but we were limited on time.)
There are toilets in the main house with a disabled toilet, plus a changing area for adults with disabilities and their carers. There are also lifts within the house for wheelchair users.
The car park is a few minutes walk, but disabled bays are very close to the house. There is a coffee station with outdoor seating in the courtyard at the back of the house which is a lovely setting to have a snack and a drink.
It’s nice to see a museum that has so much on hand for the younger generation to use and explore.

This was the first time I had been and I will definitely be back.

The grounds are fantastic. Peaceful with sweeping vistas, you can just walk around the gardens or out around the lake.

I really suggest popping in to the farm shop, but make sure you take a full wallet ha ha ha. Not that it's expensive, quite the opposite, but just because there is so much to buy. From locally raised meats to cookery books, from veg to gin. And all are great quality and value.

Had a short visit to look around the artisan market and garden centre and we were shocked by how beautiful this place is. I can't believe we've never been before now looking forward to another visit to have a better look around.

I have been visiting here for 40 years on and off and out is just a beautiful place to walk around. Plenty of adventure for young kids, very dog friendly and so, so clean and tidy.
Sincerely hope this place is still here for my grandchildren to enjoy one day.

What a fabulous day out! Beautiful gardens and scenery, with plenty of good paths for a long, or short, walk. Our dogs also loved it.
Such a surprise to find morris dancers and a lovely artisan market. Great atmosphere, good weather helping with that probably.
Next time I will explore the Hall itself too.
