What a great Roman museum, if you're interested in Roman artefacts, then you will enjoy this, they have 'The Corbridge Hoard' on display, one of the most influential Roman 'Time Capsules' ever discovered in Hadrian's Wall Country.
Also they have 3 dodecahedra on display, where only 120 dodecahedra have been found in the whole of the Roman Empire, and still nobody knows what they are for.
Also a replica of the Corbridge 'Lanx' made of 10 lbs of silver, the original is on display in the British Museum.
We have been to a lot of places in Rome, but we were very impressed with what they had on display.
Also being English Heritage it's Free for members. (fee otherwise, but still well worth it) You also get an audio tour for the site outside, which was absolutely amazing as well.

Very interesting place. Not part of Hadrian's Wall but the most northerly town in the Roman Empire.
Has a small but interesting museum to walk through before entrance to the ruins.
A self guided audio tour is included with the admission. Coffee is available in the gift shop area. Toilet was spotlessly clean. Parking plenty full but we were there early morning, on a weekday.
Overall worth it. Takes a couple of hours.

Our visit to the Corbridge roman museum was a very pleasant and interesting experience. The staff was kind and helpful, and the exhibit was not too large and boasted rather detailed descriptions. Because of the smaller size of the museum itself, we were able to properly enjoy the displayed items. Our dog was allowed in both the museum and the remains of the town, which was a huge plus. Overall, we would recommend this museum to anyone with an interest for history.

Really enjoyed this place, nice little museum, really helpful staff and nice remains to explore. Dogs are also made very welcome.

Wonderful site with some really unusual features. In a lovely setting with a modern village to explore nearby too. The museum is small but very well equipped. Not just the lovely items but a clever use of traditional curation, digital media and 3d printing. Very friendly and helpful staff and a most excellent Roman mug. Bit easily impressed but here I was. Will be back. Don't hesitate, go.

We had a great morning here. I would recommend joining the guided tour (sorry I cannot recall the gentleman’s name) which is both entertaining and knowledgeable and given by one of the site archeologists. We learned so much about the building and of their function in the time of the Romans. The highlight is the excavated remains of a fountain which was a rare addition to Roman towns. The museum is small but has so many interesting artefacts including the Corbridge hoard - a must see for any enthusiasts of Roman history. Small gift shop with reasonably priced souvenirs. Well worth a visit and would highly recommend a trip to this wonderful museum. Thank you to our guide who made our visit really enjoyable.

My wife and I visited the town and museum in September 2024. It was a fascinating glimpse at our ancient histories and well worth the time spent. If, like me, you are a Roman nerd then you must get up to Corbridge. I spent many minutes reading every placard and sign, listened to every story on the audio tour and walked every inch of the ruins.

You enter the museum first, where the ticket sales are and you pick up the audio tour to go outside into the remains of the town. Before that there is a vast display of artefacts in the museum to enjoy.

I'm a total nerd for anything Roman, it's a phenomenal era of our history. And there some really special pieces on display in this museum, all excavated right there on that site of the old town. It's a real glimpse into life in the antiquity on our little island.

The museum is really well laid out with lots of context tying the artefacts back to Roman life along the wall. I spent well over an hour , but could have spent more. Having only managed to do a flying visit of the British Museum Roman floor, this more than made up for that though.

There is a nice little gift shop and cafe area with some interesting objet d'art for sale, as well as the obligatory guide book.

Beware the entrance; its a tiny little path off Cycle Route 72 country lane and easily missed. Its also barely wide enough for one vehicle, so you may have to reverse up to let someone else in. Not quite treacherous, but defo a bit sketchy.

Very interesting with lots of Roman artefacts. Good audio tour and quite impressive roman remains with buildings and the main road running through the town. As per usual with English Heritage, lovely helpful staff
