One of the best crispy buttered fish & chips paired with local cider. Lacock village is scenic and people are friendly. A great place to immerse oneself in 12th century pub experience.

The beautiful town of Lacock is an interesting, historical city located outside of London. Stopped here with a tour and so glad I got this opportunity to visit one of the oldest Pubs in Lacock and also sites for Harry Potter lovers. The food was descent, not up to temperature, however the staff was very friendly and attentive even trying to feed over 20 people in our tour.

Stopped here for a tour and had some excellent fish and chips. It was so crispy, and heavily breaded.

Such a cool little town with a lot of history.

Haven't been to this pub for years. We were greeted by staff and quickly ushered to an empty table. Staff were very diligent and professional. Orders for drinks were taken quickly, and the 6X beer is a great recommendation; typical of this area. Food is the typical pub offerings but was excellent. I prefer a simple, no-nonsense menu of traditional food and this pub delivered. We had fish and chips. Gammon egg and chips and baked potato. All were fresh, hot and cooked well. We visited on Saturday, and it was ,as expected, quite busy but not unreasonable. Lovely old pub and well worth a diversion to the end of Lacock.

Visited the George Inn as we had noticed the sign as this being the oldest in the village. A coach load of people had just entered however we found a seat as the inn is a lot bigger on the inside. Very old interior and pleasant bar staff. There is also an outside sitting area at the back along with a car park. Entrance at the side of the pub.

There was a few photos of William Fox Talbot which links to Lacock Abbey.

Not the cheapest of pubs so only stayed for one drink but the prices are pretty much the same at the second pub in the village.
