I've lived on the IOW for nearly 54 years and Ventnor has the best Post Office in any town. The staff are always super-friendly and helpful and I always leave in a great mood.

Certain members of staff that work here are often very rude and stand offish, and they close before they’re supposed to (which is 17:00).

On one occasion, got there 6 minutes before it is supposed to closed: we saw them, they saw us, and they still wouldn't let us in. It is my local post office so I go there often and I rarely have a positive experience, even though I make an extra effort to be polite and friendly to the staff there.

I dont think I’ll be going there again from now on, unless I absolutely have to. From now on, I will be using alternative couriers other than royal mail to post my packages. Very disappointing since it’s only walking distance from where I live.

As with most post offices or retail outlets , they honour their own business opening hours which are clearly states not only on sign their door , google and their own website .
It clearly states this PO opens at 9 am until 1330 and reopens at 1400 and closes at 1700 pm Monday to Friday.
When I arrived at this PO at 1654 the door was closed with one customer being served .
After around 4 or 5 Minuets of trying to get the attention of another female member of staff who's name was Maddie or Maggie ( it was difficult to hear though a sheet of thick glass) opened the door and left shortly before mentioning a doctors appointment in a demeaning tone .

Only after reaching this post office It was pointed out to me by a male member, it closes 5 minuets before times displayed by another small sign in towards the top of the door .
I have no issue when this PO opens or closes , however If they decide to close the doors 5 minuets early why isn't their an amendment or caveat on the opening hours displayed on their website ?

I checked the opening hours on Google and your website and DID arrive in time ,at 1654, enough time for my parcel to be weighed and postage payed for.

With respect, how can a customer see the signage on your door from their comfort of their homes?

I , like many others use Google or the Businesses own website to check the opening/ closing time times before I leave home.

Why not amend or put a caveat in place on your website clearly stating you close the door at 1655 ,whilst serving the remaining customers
this might save people a wasted Journey .

I have logged a formal complaint with the Post office regarding this matter.
