The old Burns monument was much higher but was vandalised, fell into disrepair and the higher parts were taken down.
The ground and 1st level are now part of the new Registration office.
The statue of Burns is white and a very handsome image of Scotland's bard.

The site of the Scotland's people building. Great facilities but at £15 a day per person to use it, it's a bit steep of a price if you need to go back several times.
