Fantastic shop in Newton Abbot and best hifi shop I've ever been to. Paul has an excellent selection of hifi equipment and guitars. I've always had a great experience here and Paul really knows his stuff. Bought a fantastic hifi set up from Paul a few years ago and traded a guitar which he gave me a fair price for. I've always been back to upgrade my equipment and Paul has always been fantastic, very helpful and very reasonably priced. This is why independent shops really matter. Thank you Paul, see you soon. Great shop in Newton, amazing selection of unique and great quality guitars/gear. I traded in a few items for a vintera strat at Westlake audio, the whole process was really easy and the prices very reasonable and mutually beneficial. I have in the past few months purchased two pairs of speakers from Paul. A pair of Graham Audio Chartwell LS6f's in rosewood stripe and a pair of Graham Audio Chartwell LS6's in Ebony. Both pairs were in ‘very’ near mint condition and sold at really unbeatable prices. Paul is delightful to speak with and delivers a first class buying experience. It is really effortless. I recommend him highly and you can have complete confidence in trading with him. So don’t hesitate.

I had issues with my existing amp and turntable and Paul was extremely helpful in diagnosing the problem. I upgraded my app to an excellent pre-owned one that he had in together with a CD player. I now have superb hifi sound. Paul was very attentive to get the right package for me. Very happy.

Good old fashioned service.
The bad news for me is that I went in with a budget of £200 to buy a new pair of speakers and ended up buying a new Music Fidelity amp too spending nearly £900, but never mind. Really great shop if you are into vintage and quality new HiFi like me. Professional and knowledgeable service, I was allowed to demo as many speakers as I wanted with different amp combinations. On top of all that, when I completed my purchase, the owner threw in some speaker cable – and fitted banana plugs for me, and a quality interconnect. It meant when I returned home it took a few minutes to set up. Highly recommend. Lastly, it is fairly easy to park nearby. Now…. I think I may need a CD player.

I've known Paul going back years when I started busking around Devon, some 15 years ago. I've bought guitars from Paul and sold guitars to Paul (not guitars purchased from Paul!). When I buy a guitar from Paul Westlake I don't even bother checking for action, tone, set up or any damage because the man doesn't sell #%ap, 100% to total shopping/ selling experience.

Just a lovely store, with a well chosen selection of new and old hi fi, guitars and vinyl records. Helpful and informed advice and I now have a super Rega Planar 3 with Musical Fidelity amp (the latter replacing my Krell that self-immolated the first time of playing after 3 years in store). Highly recommended!
