So…..sadly having been a loyal shopper at The Avenue for over 20 years spending several hundred pounds a month we’re now re-considering what might be misplaced loyalty. The alleged ‘free parking’ is no more, despite being advertised as such. It appears the area available for long stay parking is more than that, it is exclusive to long stayers. Don’t know when this happened but currently in discussion over the issue with the car park managers having received 2 penalty notices in the space of 2 weeks.
Looks like we will be moving our spend to Silverburn where parking is genuinely free and all of the shops we need are there. Apologies to Marks & Spencer, Asda, Fraser’s and Superdrug. Not your fault, but sadly your loss.

I visit The Avenue so often I’m surprised they don’t charge me rent but the new parking situation is appalling and is causing people to leave without doing any shopping because they can’t get a parking space. Apparently the car park at the rear of the centre has been sold to a developer who is going to build flats. As a result the long stay car park, for which there are charges, has been relocated and now takes up over half of the lower car park at Asda.
One of the advantages of using this shopping centre had always been the ease of parking but as I practically stalked someone who was going to get his car so that I could get his space I definitely wasn’t feeling the love. Sort this please before the centre suffers. Or is that the plan?

Easy parking, a great range of shops and a selection of eateries to suit every taste. It's not a monster shopping area but it's well laid out with well placed comfortable seating for the weary!

This is a reasonable sized shopping centre in Newton Mearns, just outside Glasgow. There's a good mix of shops for groceries (Asda and Marks & Spencers), clothing, pharmacists, lots of independent stalls/booths etc, and even old school bank branches. Basically like any shopping centre in the U.K, just smaller. The place is clean and well maintained, provides free wheelchairs and electric scooters, and has free WiFi, so it's always pleasant visiting.

It's good for local shopping and if you're in the area, it's probably the best option short of going into Glasgow town centre. Especially as the shopping centre provides free parking.
