Views from the lighthouse at Tyne Mouth. Long walk, but beautiful views depend on the climate. Quite windy. It is a very scenic spot to enjoy the coastal beauty. Unfortunately no cycling is permitted. It has a wonderful view from the Tynemouth priory site. Recently it was closed to the public (08/09/2023). Not sure when it will be opened.

Was here last winter but it’s closed. Now we’re back during summer. We’re lucky there’s not much people as you can see in the pictures. It took us 10-20 mins to get to the lighthouse and it’s quite windy as well (make sure to dress appropriately). Perfect place for fishing as well !!! Not recommended for people with fear of heights 😅

Gates open today so took the walk along to the lighthouse. Sun came out so it was really nice walking along. Great views back to the Tyne and over to South Shields.

Very cool! Definitely worth the long walk down the pier just for the sights you'll experience as you approach the lighthouse (the walk back also provides some interesting visual stimulus)! Once you make it to the lighthouse you can appreciate the tranquility of the sea and also watch distant ships on the horizon. If you're lucky you might get to see the coast guard in action as well! It's definitely worth the time to walk up to this lighthouse if you're in Tynemouth, almost essential I'd say.

It's also worth noting there are benches regularly placed along the pier, so if the walk strikes you as a bit daunting you'll be afforded plenty of opportunities to rest (they're also pleasant to relax on just as an innate quality, whether you're exhausted or not).

Lovely spot, we went early so wasn't busy at all. Free parking for 2 hours was a great bonus. Would recommend for a stroll.

This is an unexpectedly beautiful place. Long walk to the light house is truly beautiful. There is a free car park to the left of the road. All in all a perfect place to walk of you have time.
