I went to get my MDF cut on Sunday at 2:30. After queuing up at 2:45, I was told the cutting service was closing and they wouldn’t do it. It was a complete waste of my trip. If they close the service an hour before the store shuts, that should be clearly stated—I wouldn’t have bothered making the journey.

Since I am a DIY beginner, I need some help selecting and finding the right products. I went to B&Q in Wallasey, and surprisingly, most of the young gentlemen there were not willing to help. I asked three gentlemen for assistance; two of them were young, and one of them told me that he had never seen the item I wanted to buy before. After spending half an hour searching without success, I asked for help again. They just told me which aisle it might be in and explained that it might be sold out or that the item might not exist.

Finally, I asked a senior gentleman, and he told me the exact location, which was different from what the two younger gentlemen had said. This senior gentleman also came back to assist me after finishing his task (dropping off some items). I was very impressed by him—he was so experienced and had a truly helpful attitude. B&Q, the best prices are not the only key; the best service is.

Real mix of miserable and helpful staff. When you catch someone’s eye, they look as though they wish you hadn’t because they don’t want to help. Asked several people for item. No joy. Went to pay for other items when Pete near self service tills went above and beyond, checked on his device and confirmed that it was definitely in store. Turns out one of the more unhelpful colleagues I’d asked before had it in a trolley while restocking. Somebody give Pete a raise! He wouldn’t let me leave without the item I’d come for.

I hate b&q I only go out of extreme requirement but to be fair the staff seem to be much more polite of late! Was a nice quiet day and my grandson needs some paper for his bedroom wall, he is really into fishing at the moment and to his mums dismay and despite my best attempts he chose these lol

Customer toilets still closed since Covid so had to cut shopping trip short and ended up ordering over £500 worth of lights online, B&Q please be considerate to your customers and allow them to use the toilets

I bought an item on the B&Q website because I knew my local shop on the Wirral was close and I could return in. The item doesn't work. B&Q won't accept it back. They stated it was sold from a separate seller via their website, and I need to contact that seller directly to discuss the return of the item and for a refund. If I wanted this nonsense I would have bought it from Amazon. I wish I'd used a different seller. Why didn't I go to Argos?
