I would stay well clear of this company.

My experience with then was so bad that I ended up getting a new company to take over a redesign my website.

Endless issues with Chimpare including:

Delays to updating my website and when the did there were numerous mistakes.

No reply’s to emails and having to continuously chase them up.

Overcharging me for services (updates to my website, adding images) and when they were carried out were incorrect

Then when I left I all of a sudden stopped getting emails through on the email system that was set up by Chimpare, and when I asked them for their help in fixing this by giving me my account information to deal with the email company. There response was something completely different to what I had requested and made no sense at all.

I made big mistake trusting this company to design a user friendly professional website. I encountered nothing but bad service and hassle.

We used Chimpare Designs to create our new mobile application for iOS and Android, which unfortunately was not successfully delivered. We embarked on the project together in May 2021 and explained our project and vision in great detail. We choose Chimpare as a reputable UK company to help develop our app after we experienced difficulties using a freelancer abroad. At first, we unsure about them but they reassured our concerns and we decided to proceed. Initially, things seemed very professional and positive however, it was not made clear who would be working on the project despite asking during the initial consultation and evidently the project was outsourced to an Indian freelancer company called Virtual Height.

We were told that the project would take 5 months to complete and had frequent Zoom calls to communicate feedback and guide the project forwards. Although, these swiftly diminished and project management switched hands many times throughout different stages, meaning there was no real ownership of the project. We constantly had to chase for updates and rarely received a timely response. Their customer service was appalling as they rarely reached out to us, or took our concerns seriously.

The application appears to have been worked on by multiple freelancers with no single point of contact. Virtual Height were reluctant to share details about the true developer and after closer look this could be because the code was badly written. Our new developer reported many errors in the code and found traces to adult websites and trojans. They also identified that multiple apps were being stored on the same server, which presented an inherent data protection and security breach. We consider this to be a major factor in the delayed timescale and quality of the work delivered, which posed a detrimental effect on our business.

Throughout the project we provided many detailed wire-frames explaining the functionality of the app and how it should be delivered. Multiple updates were issued without any clear demonstration of testing. Some updates fixed some parts, but others broke them too. We tested each update ourselves and provided detailed feedback to highlight issues however, unfortunately it seemed that the app was developed off our testing documents rather than their initial consultation, meaning that some features were excluded and forgotten about entirely. Instead, Chimpare asked for more money to include these features that should have been originally developed.

When it came to payment, a price was agreed in writing however more money was requested from us and we subsequently overpaid the agreed figure. We had hoped a refund would have been offered, or were happy to let it go providing they could achieve the revised completion date and fix all outstanding issues. Instead, they terminated contact with us when money was off the table and ignored all our concerns.

We therefore made an executive decision last month to terminate our contract with Chimpare Designs after 10 months of failures and disappointments. We had hoped that they would kindly provide all intellectual property and instructions to aid a smooth transfer to our new team. However, we did not receive everything and we had to raise multiple requests for outstanding information. Their freelancers were unsure how to facilitate a professional transfer, hence our developer kindly guided them through it over a video call. We’re pleased to say that after 6 weeks we finally have everything we need to move on and have identified a new developer to help rectify our app and address the many issues Chimpare created.

At the end of this journey, we are left with half a finished app and a lot of emotional and financial hardship. We have spent well in excess of our budget fixing the issues Chimpare created. The fact they gave their own review a 5 star rating is a BIG red flag. We recommend people stay well clear of this company so they do not experience what we have!

My experience with Chimpare was amazing. We needed some business cards that look and feel professional and it has been done beautifully! Communications were great especially when designing the cards as we were presented 6 designs from which to choose! 100% will use again and recommending them to anyone that needs a website or business cards done!
