The Port of Cromarty Firth at Invergordon is a reasonably accessible, local port that has seasonal visits from several cruise ships, such is the beauty of the firth & the surrounding area. There is quite a lot of local history relating to the port posted on information boards along the road that follows the shoreline/borders the port & up by the water itself along the footpaths. This is certainly worth reading for those who are interested in the subject. The north sea oil rigs that are docked in the firth for maintenance are an incredible sight to behold, as are the huge cable laying ships that also dock there. Seeing these at night, all lit up, is an amazing experience. The views across the water from Invergordon are stunning & are great for photographers both amateur & professional. In my opinion the Cromarty Firth Port at Invergordon is definitely worth checking out for any maritime enthusiasts who are in the area.
