I wanted to feel like we had found a place to go and continue to go but unfortunately we didn’t really feel welcome. At first we were greeted by a lady behind the bar who was lovely and welcoming and I have no complaints about her. However, when it came to ordering our food the waitress approached and asked if we were ready to order, at that point we hadn’t even looked at the menu. We asked if we could have 5 more minutes to look at the menu, we were trying to settle and occupy a 2 year old and a 10 year old before deciding what we wanted. The waitress looked disgruntled and said yes okay but we need the table by 19:15, we had booked the table for 5 and arrived 10 minutes before. My partner said to the waitress that we would definitely be gone by then because we have a 2 year old to settle. This did annoy me and if it wasn’t for the fact that my children were there and were hungry I would have left.
I think she realised how rude it was because she did apologise and say sorry for rushing us. I appreciated the apology but I hope there is a lesson learned here. I know it’s just a job to them but I do think there should be a level of consideration and understanding of other people’s circumstances. We have recently moved to the area and our young children are also settling into their new surroundings, I just hope that another family doesn’t have to feel the way we initially felt. I’m sure the waitress reflecting on the situation wouldn’t have wanted us to feel this way and the free ice cream did help slightly however, we won’t be returning. I know from the level of detail I’ve provided that they will know the exact customer that has posted this review and I hope they think next time before rushing a customer with young children.

Has tourist staying on the nearby campsite, we had a warm welcome from the second we stepped inside. All the staff were very friendly, the food was great and reasonably priced and they stocked some good beers.

Thank you for a lovely evening Cross Inn.

A brilliantly sweet pub, very nice barman with a great feel! Menu looked so good too, hopefully will return to try it!!

Best to park on the road just down the way and even better go for a walk around the point. Garden area is lovely with stunning views.

The bar staff was really nice a pleasant to talk to. The food was really good and reasonably priced the only problem was the locals that came in, 1 or 2 was friendly but seemed like some of them don’t understand or comprehend that they don't own the pub and that tourists do help business. When we was leaving i heard one mutter thank Christ they are leaving just because we was sitting at the table they needed to sit at (there was penalty of other tables they could of sat at but just want to be difficult). We probably would have stayed a little longer when finishing dinner and have a few more drinks but felt too uncomfortable to stay any longer. If you are a local to this pub and like the owner then it should be advised that you shouldn’t make the tourist not want to come in cause alot of money comes from us coming!

The locals seemed too thick to realise that a business like this needs tourists and people coming in. We are a family of 8.
Very rude and hostile is the best way to describe about 80% of the locals in there (probably about 12 men it’s a small place). Were making it very clear they wanted us to hurry our meals and go even telling my partner “thank god your leaving” as she left.
Said nothing to me however probably as I am a male.
Where these dumb-dumbs going to drink when the place closes due to lack of business?
Such a shame, as staff were very friendly and the food was good and very reasonable in price.

What an amazing little find. Booked for my mums 89th Birthday as we were staying down the road in Lydstep Haven. On entry in the bar a lovely warm welcome. And then the waitress tended to our needs amazingly. My mum is elderly and I use cancer as I have incurable cancer plus other things. This lady was absolutely wonderful. When our meals came, well how can I say it, they were humongous, could easily have fed 4 people. About the food now, I'm very finicky and like my steak well done, I would rather it be like charcoal than to see any pink. What cab I say, it's not many places that can cook a well done steal to perfection, but this was just falling apart and melted in my mouth, the same for mum but she likes it medium rare. I asked the waitress if she would pass my compliments to the chef and told her what I've written above. She was over the moon, as that night (16th September 2023), the waitress daughter was the chef. I wish I could of given her more than compliments because like I said, the steak was to die for.
Would definitely recommend this place and as we only live 60 miles away, will definitely pop in for food another day. Thank you for giving my mum a wonderful birthday, neither of us will ever forget it. Unfortunately my memory is poor for names, and for the life of me I can't remember the waitresses name, but I'm sure she will know who we are, as she said my mum and I reminded her of her mum and herself, who she sadly lost.
