Went on the Winchester Cathedral tower tour which was very interesting. We were warned about stairs being quite cramped but worth the climb. Very informative guided tour of hidden areas of the cathedral. We visited the bell room and walked above the arches. The stairs up the tower are steep and very narrow in places but you don’t do them all in one go! Worth the climb for the fantastic views over Winchester. The guides were very knowledgeable about the history of the cathedral. It would have been a bonus if you got an annual pass as you do if you pay to visit the cathedral. The beautiful certificate at the end was a pleasant surprise. Thank you.

The Winchester Cathedral Tower and Roof tour was a throughly enjoyable experience. Our guide Jane gave us very informative details as we went around allowing us time to take photos and ask questions. As well as climbing the steep spiral staircase to the top of the tower we also went into the bell chamber and the bell ringing room. We then went along an amazing walkway above the roof of the nave and finally onto the narrow ledge around the roof.
What a wonderful tour !

An interesting experience, and our guide was very informative. However, it wasn’t quite what we expected — we thought the tour would focus on underground vaults and tunnels, rather than walking around Southampton to visit individual vaults. That would have been a misunderstanding on our part, but having said that, I really enjoyed it. As a slower walker, I hadn’t anticipated a walking tour so was a little worried about holding others up, but it wasnt too bad. I would definitely recommend the tour as the information was fascinating

Absolutely fabulous experience that we would highly recommend. Bought for a birthday present for my son and I also joined him. Came home with a large bottle and enough in storage to make up more in future. It was a fascinating and fun experience in lovely surroundings and very well presented. We even got picked up from the railway station and taken back.

Just had a truly amazing trip round the vaults of Southampton, our tour guide Geoff was a master of his trade, he made it incredibly interesting . I've lived in the area for more than 30 years and was totally unaware of these historic vaults in Southampton, I'd recommend this tour and the wonderful Geoff. I've had a lovely evening thank you .

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish, the Portsmouth D-Day tunnels. Wonderful guide, I wish I had been taught by someone with his knowledge and passion; lucky school and pupils in his class.
Loved the steps and the two x two (no other information on that…..take the tour!)
Who knows when this slice of history may become unavailable to the general public, well worth a look though even if it never closes.

We did the tour of the merchant vaults in Southampton. It was excellent, informative and so very enjoyable, worth every penny! There’s a few steps involved so be sure to have comfortable shoes on! I’m not looking at other ‘experiences’ because we loved this one 👍
