Entry to Falkland Palace and Garden is free for members of the National Trust of Scotland. Tickets could be purchased either at the shop or an entrance to the palace, and for non-members are around £18 per adult. The nearest car park is located around 100 yards from the entrance to this attraction and is free of charge.

During my visit all staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the display inside the building and garden. Within the palace itself not all rooms are accessible for the general public. Though, staff in those accessible rooms can give quite a good insight into historical facts about the Stuarts, and former and current keepers of the Falkland Palace.

The garden, orchard and meadow are lovely spots and appear to be very peaceful. At the back of the garden there is located the world's oldest tennis court, which is almost 500 years old. There were people even playing a game of tennis during my visit. The willow maze is located in the orchard and is worth checking too.

No cafe on the premises of the Falkland Palace but there are quite a few good places to visit just outside this tourist attraction. I will definitely be back to the palace and gardens, as well as to explore more of the surrounding area. Highly recommended.

This is a must-see for anyone visiting Scotland. A beautiful palace and garden steeped in history, located in an equally historic village and surrounding hillsides. Truly spectacular gardens and well informed staff who are more than happy to share their passion for the palace and garden. An easy day trip from Edinburgh by car enroute to St. Andrew's. I'll definitely be back with my other visitors.

A very interesting and historical place full of meaningful artefacts The gardens are very extensive and contains the world's oldest surviving tennis court.
The information given by the volunteers was excellent, but we did come away feeling that we didn't have a very full picture of the Palace history. We have since spent a lot of time on Google trying to piece it together.
Well worth a visit though.

A royal palace of the Scottish kings. It was one of the favorite places of Mary, Queen of Scots.
It hosts the original real tennis court - the world's oldest tennis court still in use.
Don't miss the chapel: the tapestries and all.
Also there's a bed attributed to the James VI of Scotland/James I of England.
The castle shared lots of interesting details: do stop and listen.

Friday 11th April 2025 our second visit in 12 months. We are NT members so didn't have to pay. A very nice walk around of a limited number of rooms etc, lots of spiral stairs but they are wide and there are hand rails. The staff in the rooms are welcoming and knowledgeable. It was a lovely sunny day when we visited. Last June we walked around the gardens (very nice) but not this time. Highly recommend. Added some nice photos of some features

Really enjoyed our visit my wife the garden in particular. The gardener has great knowledge and very approachable. The palace is a gem and a great attraction to international visitors. NTS membership is a good thing to have.

Very well preserved rooms and features. The chapel is stunning.
Gardens are vast and don't forget to visit the oldest tennis court in the world plus orchard with lots of wildflowers. So pretty.
