Gilson Gray assisted me with the sale of my flat and purchase of my house, and I would thoroughly recommend their services. From the outset, Arran Lovell supported me with a valuation and getting my flat on the market, and this support continued through until we accepted an offer. Karen McMillan was hugely helpful and provided great guidance throughout the sale as we overcame some hurdles. Cheryl Edgar then professionally progressed the conveyancing for both the sale and purchase and communicated with us throughout. I would definitely use Gilson Gray again.

I purchased a property from my landlord in April 2025 and Gilson Gray oversaw the sale. While it was a relatively low maintenance sale, they still made the process very straightforward and, crucially, I found them easy to reach and engage with, which isn't always the case with solicitors! As someone from England navigating the Scottish house purchasing process, I was grateful for their walking through with me what was required. As in Scotland you need a solicitor early on in the house purchasing process, I'd recommend reaching out to them if you're starting afresh.

I was extremely disappointed and shocked with the service received from Gilson Gray when trying to buy a property in Fife.
The lack of care they gave was unacceptable and there was a disrespect to us as their client.
You couldn’t get an answer to an email at a responsible timeframe unless you phoned up. Our lawyer always had his answer machine on so couldn’t ever get through to them.
There was no safeguarding for us as a client.
I would stay clear of this company if you are looking to be treated with respect by a lawyer and actually cares for their clients.

Just as bad as MHD Law. Though when company took over things might more more quickly. How wrong was I! Getting passed from one person to another. First spoke with Gilson Gray in June 2024, 9 months on, no further forward and now requesting nearly £1500 for services I have already paid MHD Law £1842.57 for! Will definitely not be using Gilson Gray for any future services!

We have used Gilson Gray on two occasions to purchase houses, receiving exemplary service on both occasions. The terms of engagement were fully explained at the start of the process and, once agreed, aspects such as arranging surveyors for a Home Report and photographers for the preparation of the Schedule were taken forward without delay. Our more recent house purchase was overseen by Karen and, to a lesser extent, by Megan and we were kept fully informed throughout.
