TONY LEE M.D. of Harron homes. Please feel free to call me, you’ll have my details - but i bet you don’t!!

What a bunch of RIP OFF MERCHANTS. We got a text from Harron offering us a plot in Bilsthorpe Chase, (PLOT 128) with a discount of £18k. Lovely we thought, we’ll have it.
They confirmed they would do an ‘assisted purchase’ which helps us sell our and insisted we did a ‘pre qualification’ for a mortgage we didn't even know we wanted/needed as we planned to port our existing mortgage. So we offered a deposit, “not yet” they said, lets get you qualified first. That took over a week of mucking about deciding if we could afford to pay around £1000 less a month that we currently are !! (Yes really!) which was stressful enough but we loved the house so we persevered. Finally we got the approval and went in to pay the deposit - which they took happily. Off to the show home a few miles away to measure for our furniture and back to our new home a few days later to discover that they HAD PUT THE PRICE BACK UP. No communication. Not even a hint. We only found out by accident. You can imagine the shock, so we asked for confirmation that the agreed price still stood. “Oh yes, we’ll sort it. It will be OK” well they didn't and it isn’t. After being told that we hadn’t been given an agreed price their sales manager even agreed with me that that could add over £100k to the asking price if they felt like it.
So BE WARNED. They’ll offer you a discount, take your money, get your hopes up then renege on the deal as soon as they can…. And if this is how they treat customers BEFORE they get their money, imagine what they’ll be like if you have a problem once you’ve paid.
RIP OFF . RIP OFF. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
(Oh yes, and I am a tad angry about it!)

I started typing and realised it would have been better, easier and shorter to type the stuff that is good with our experience of harron homes.... sales. Great sales advisor. Stops there.) They try making out that trying to put the snags right is them being flexible and approachable. Shouldn't have the 139 snags that were found in the first week to start with! Plus the additional found thereafter. They don't 'liase ' with you. You are told what they will and won't do, no compromises. 43 they accepted. Apparently wonky walls dont count!, ! Windows not being air/noise tight, emergency call out for no hot water takes 11 days, for them still not to show, fire exits jammed, windows and radiators appear second hand, every form of site rubbish you can imagine buried in your front and back garden, too be told its not their responsibility to clear it up, then when argue enough for them to do it, its them doing you the favour. Contractors dont show up on appointment dates, if youve been told their even coming, for lack of communication. And when you then decide your not hanging around to see if anyone shows, your to blame for work taking so long.
Apparently a text is too much. 2/3/4 weeks notice of availability and you're still chasing up 24 hours before to see if you've got to babysit contractors on your days off. Then show up for 4-5 hours a day, breaks are longer. Plans that they messed up on but they have to stick to 'planning' but can bend at their own will as and when. Wrong batch tiles. Plaster work they've based on rivers. Paintwork that's only done to arms length, if that. Gloss work covered in dirt, dust and materials. Nearly every window or doors, scratched, marked or chipped. Doors cut short( over 2 inch) then the whole frame taken out, shortened, to save costs on a new door. (Gap now hiding behind door frames) dirty carpets for shoes being walked through. Never heard of cleaning up after themselves. Top it off, your items aren't covered or protected, unless done so by yourself. Pictures, artwork splattered with paint. All new furniture now damaged, dinted, chipped and marked, where they've worked around them.
Top soil isn't needed apparently for your turf to grow. Roll it out on some sand and its all good! No border, no edging, placed flush to you bricks, all dead. But it's you not caring for it enough. I could go on and on.
Unless a sign a goes up in your window, you dont exsist. 2 days of poster and phones and emails miraculously, start working again.
Aftercare and customer services only seem to beable to write to these reviews. Its more than you get after theyve had your money.
All you are told for bad workmanship is 'the times have moved on and it not like it use to be'. That your standards are too high and its 'man made' so these faults are natural. It has to be a harron homes clarified 'defect' for it to be even contemplated. Do not expect anything less than heart break and disappointment and you'll be OK.
