I booked a personal shopping slot today and I have to say it was a great experience. Bobby Jo had already picked out some items and then guided me through the shop after giving me my own large changing room and a icy cold drink. She made me feel very confident in my choice of clothes and also had me trying things I normally wouldn't choose. Everything was great, so good in fact, I had to cull some pieces due to the fact my finances wouldn't cover it all.

I've never done a personal shop before and it is something I will definitely do again. As always, amazing customer service was given by all the staff involved. But my thanks goes especially to Bobby Jo who must have ran miles swapping items and finding coordinates that worked for me. She made the whole experience less overwhelming and actually by the end, it was fun, nothing was too much trouble.

I would highly recommend this service if you are looking for any new clothes along with matching accessories. A great experience all round 😀

Attended a Christmas meal event in the restaurant at Harveys of Halifax yesterday... it was amazing! Exquisite 3 course meal along with a world famous Bublé tribute... perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit 🎄

As Tracy Harvey herself asked « why do you even want to shop here? » well I don’t anymore. Your receipts are so bad that even your own staff have issues deciphering them. Items are not itemized, they are sold as an item from a particular department ie Trespasse. Not raincoat, but brand name. When a customer is returned £80 unexpectedly a week after a purchase of several pairs of boots are exchanged, and she returned because the receipt did not make sense, does not bode well. Yet I was made to feel like a fool and as if I was trying to be clever. I earlier that month had tried to return some dresses and again due to poorly written receipts I was not believed until I asked for a manager, in the end the correct money was returned.

All my issues have been related to returns/ exchanges or misleading Christmas promotions. It also makes no sense that your receipts separate taxes, from cost of clothes. That’s not how you price items. We are not in North America or Australia where it’s always actual price on item, but at the till the tax percentage is added.

So, if you shop here, save every receipt, and make sure you know what items you bought. I would make a copy and write what item that price relates to. I was also not impressed that when a manager (Tracy)gives you a gift card, that said gift card was cancelled without informing the customer and I was once again made to look like a fool when I attempted to spend the gift card, and what was worse was then challenged in front of customers. You should have at least informed me that you had chosen to cancel it! Unfortunately google will not let me remove anymore stars. Although you do have some wonderful staff, I felt degraded and totally embarrassed during my dealings with this store. It’s unfortunate that a local store with so much potential was let down by a few staff who seemed to look down upon a customer who maybe did not fit the demographic of your usual customers!!

My friend and I had a facial by Jackie on the Estee Lauder stand on Saturday. She was absolutely lovely. Ended up buying some really good products, but did not feel pressured to do so. Our first time in Harvey's as not from Halifax. Had almost forgotten what a good department store was like! Was such a lovely place spent a few hours looking around, trying clothes and buying! Had a fabulous day and already planning to come back.

Had a very negative experience whilst shopping instore yesterday 25th june was approached by a undercover police officer and asked to leave was told there had been a incident outside and was for my own safety felt very singled out and embarrassed as no other shoppers were asked to leave .Phoned the store for explanation and never really offered a satisfactory explanation said no staff were aware of the incident even though were several staff nearby and in the vicinity of it happening even saw me while escorted out and had just spoken to one seconds earlier. 😳 I have been and shopped here on several occasions but this incident made very anxious and feel uneasy and upset not good customer relations for large store I won't be returning.

Nice to shop here because I miss the old department stores. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Jayne on the beauty counter. Lovely clothes and restaurant. I got a huge meal of fish and chips. Bit too big really. I would have preferred a smaller quantity, but better quality of fish. But I'm so glad this department store is still going.

Surprisingly big department store! Good selection of designer shoes/ bags and clothing. I'll be buying my cosmetics from there from now on!

Not been for years remember going with gran thinking it for der people! Today I had a shock when I went there great selection of things ranging from gifts birthday cards wrapping paper designer clothing (superdry, joules, barbour) perfumes creams nightwear home products for the kitchen etc .. I was shocked at the selection they have.. definatly worth a visit if your in Halifax.. tried the cafe this eas also really good the hot chocolate was really nice and the food sizes were really good portions. Friendly staff in the cafe who were willing to help and tweek the order to our satisfaction.. looked to be a good selection of cakes aswell but after eating the delicious turkey sandwich (which had plenty of turkey) and chips I couldn't eat much else. They also had a lovely Christmas display which my 5 year old niece really enjoyed looking at.
