Shopping today with my daughter & 2 year old granddaughter, we had a beautiful experience when we went to pay for 2 sets of children’s hats & gloves. A manager took one of the sets said “ it’s on us” & only charged us for one set. Thank you so much John Lewis for such an act of kindness at Christmas. My granddaughter is thrilled with her new hat & gloves.

My Mum has just gone through a cancer battle - plus it was my son’s 18th birthday party so we wanted to get Mum party ready and feel pampered. . it was the first time Mum had been shopping in a year and she has short silver hair now plus has lost weight. We booked a personal shopping experience with Sarah - for my Mum - but also me and my son were there.
What an amazing time we had with Sarah. She was so lovely - and knowledgeable- and kitted my mum out in 2 absolutely fabulous outfits plus a dress for me (which I would never have chosen but is gorgeous) plus a shirt and tie for my son. I can’t thank Sarah enough for the way she was with all of us - plus the inspired clothes she kept delivering. Nothing was too much trouble. We all declared it was the best shopping experience we have ever had - so thank you so much. Definitely recommend this to anyone.

This is such a lovely place to shop. The store is always well laid out and there are so many products to choose from. The coffee shop is a great place to take a break. Best of all are the staff - lovely people, who are always willing to help and who go out of their way to resolve issues. Ample parking - and Sainsbury's right next door.

Bought an item took it home and found it was scratched. Drove back, went to the same till I bought it from (different partner), no greeting just "What is it?" - the item was in front of her. She said it was just dusty. I pointed out the scratches. She asked if I wanted to get another one which I did and took back to the till to check. That was also scratched. She said "I doubt you'll find one that isn't scratched" I said I'd go and check others. She said "Do you want to take this one and then you can go to another till." Clearly was bored of me. Found one that was acceptable and took it to the till next to her where the partner was helpful and friendly. It wasn't even busy so not sure why she didn't want to help or be courteous.

Whilst usually being very pleased with our JL Cheadle experience, unfortunately today was not the case. We were there to buy a baby present. The nursery department was absolutely filthy. There was layers of dust on the baby sleeping bags and many more items. I know the babies things should be washed before use but we wanted to give it as a present. The sales assistant very kindly went to look if there was any stock in the back and luckily there was. That is the only reason why I gave this review a three star.

I visited JL Cheadle for a lunchtime, and arrived at the cafe at 1:15 on a Tuesday. Sadly three choices I made had run out and the only sandwich available for my husband was gluten free ( which he doesn’t require).
My choice was described as “egg mayo and cress baguette “ was in fact a long bread finger roll with a sparse amount of filling.
We were both disappointed and left with the impression that really JL could have done better.

John Lewis allows men into the female changing rooms!
Yesterday I was shopping with my mum at John Lewis in Cheadle and as we approached the female changing rooms we were met by a large man who took my clothes and escorted me through the area where women were getting changed to show me to my cubicle. Why they have a man working in this section is beyond me, especially as they already had 3 ladies working in the fitting room, it wasn't necessary for him to be there. As I was trying on the clothes (including a bikini) I had to open the changing room door to show my mum and periodically the male member of staff would walk by and give me a side eye as to what I had on. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable! We complained to the store manager about having men in the changing room and quite frankly he wasn't at all bothered by how we felt or what our opinion on the matter was. He told that it was "my choice" to open the door and show my mum what I was wearing, meaning by doing so I ran the risk of bumping into a man in the changing room. He said that there were locks on the changing room if I felt unsafe...it was ludicrous! This man could work in any department in the whole store yet John Lewis has chosen to place him in an area that is meant to be designated to ladies only! This is simply John Lewis virtue signalling! I have video recorded the whole conversation with the store manager and upon playing it back, it is even more shocking to hear what he has to say the second time around. He even went as far to say that he wouldn't have a problem with going into in the female changing rooms himself! It's a DISGRACE!
