It’s such a shame this base was handed to the army because i grew up regularly visiting leuchars to see my gran and all I remember from childhood was the noise of planes flying over day and night. We always went to the air shows here as well obviously now those don’t happen which is a real shame - the runway is still there but there’s absolutely nothing to see. Not the same place I knew growing up and the village isn’t the same without the RAF.

Absolutely fantastic! Went here with 1196 RAF Air Cadet squadron and got to fly on a chinook. Loved the setup of the airfield and the RAF service members there were fantastic.
