What a wonderful and stunning place to go. Perfect for hikers, walkers, dogs and families.

There are 3 main walking routes, the easiest being the reservoir, there is a steep hill up to it. The waterfall walk was lovely but be aware, there are lots of large rocks and some scrambling involved if you want to take the route all around. Most people walked up to the waterfall and then back. Third is the big track which will give you a good challenge.

Will come here again for the views and maybe try the whole route next time.

We visited this beautiful spot today with the family, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The location is absolutely stunning — surrounded by nature with breathtaking views everywhere you look. We did a 45-minute hike to reach the waterfalls, and it was totally worth the effort. The trail was manageable and scenic, making the walk enjoyable for all of us.

Once we reached the waterfalls, the view was just incredible — peaceful, refreshing, and picture-perfect. Along the way and near the starting point, there were some cozy coffee shops where we grabbed drinks and snacks, which added a nice touch to the day.

It’s a fantastic place for a day out, whether you're into nature walks, photography, or just looking to relax and unwind with your loved ones. Highly recommended

It is a very beautiful place for hiking and picnicking. Lots of greenery. Best place for a family outing. Nice place to play for kids with pebbles and water flowing. When you go upstairs for a hike you will find sheep and horses. Also, there is a small lake where I saw people swimming.

Enjoyed a lovely sunny spring day, some of the paths are a challenge if you have mobility issues. Walked to the waterfall first then found a steep path to the right,it was worth the climb the views are absolutely stunning!! Saw lots of wildlife, baby lambs & horses. Staff friendly, clean toilet facilities. Enjoyed vegan sorbet with the BEST GF brownie with a beautiful view. Will return to complete the other path. £6 to park all day if you're not a national trust member.

Great place for a good walk and picnic. There was plenty of parking on site. The reservoir walk is only 20 minutes away and quite easy to do but there are steps involved unless you walk up the hill. The kids are able to swim in there and splash around. The waterfall walk is 40 minutes and quite strenuous. In the summer expect the waterfall to be dry. Best visited in the winter months when there's been more rain. But there is a stunning view that is at the Sumit which you can also drive up.

Very scenic and beautiful at one point we had to move some mules i think out of our way on the path.
The waterfall wasn't what we expected but that was because of the lack of rain, but overall very enjoyable.

Great circular route for hiking. Lovely views all round.
Dog friendly cafe with rooftop terrace to enjoy a well deserved ice cream or two.

Lovely area with plenty of varied hikes. Easy to get to from the train station. Also ample parking at Carding Mill with National Trust cafe on site. Good footwear recommended especially if you're heading up to the Little Spout Waterfall as it's often wet and slippy on the rocks (best to do this up rather than down). Lots of areas to picnic by the river (LNT leave no trace) if weather permits. Pole Bank trig point is a steady hike up and worth it for the views if weather is good.
