Off Camber Cycles – absolute legends

Day 2 of our 4-day bikepacking trip on the Rat Run, and it had already been a day. We’d started with a major tyre blowout and a mercy stop at another bike shop just to keep rolling.

Then the gears gave out. Chain leaping and skipping constantly, having to pull it off and re-route five times. Eventually, I realised I was missing two bolts in my smaller chainring – it wasn’t going to hold.

We nursed the bike to Off Camber Cycles, and what a welcome.

Cold water. Bike stands. A place to sit and catch our breath. Great chat and proper care.

They didn’t have the SRAM-specific bolts (understandably), but knowing I planned to strip the whole groupset post-trip, they found a workaround using spare bolts—and got me rolling again.

Legends.

The shop itself is gorgeous—beautiful range of bikes, from high-end to entry-level, and the kind of warm, welcoming feel every shop (bike or book) should have.

The fix got us through the toughest terrain. Managed half a day smooth, then limped the last 1.5 days stuck in the big ring—but we made it.

Recently purchased a Ridley bike from another retailer. Needed some bits sorting and found Off Camber from their list of authorised dealers. Archie and the team did a great job of sorting out an issue that had come with the bike from new and getting it fully ready for the road. A lovely shop too with a great selection of bikes and accessories. I’ll bring the MTB here soon for some TLC.

25.02.25 On a bike ride from Radstock to Studland when my gear cable broke cycling into Blandford Forum. Very helpful lady directed me to Offcamber. Replaced gear cable immediately and I was on my way again within about 20 minutes. Great staff, great service, reasonable price and the coffee was good too!

These guys are storming ’awesome! I needed an emergency tyre (old one split mid-trip). Not only did they have a great choice of tyres, they were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful too. And although clearly had a long list of bikes booked in to fix, they fitted the tyres tubeless there and then.

Super friendly and professional. Took my bike in for a job, they got back to me with a list of potential things that could be done. I then gave them a budget deadline and they prioritised the jobs and got as much done as they could...the bike felt brand new. Lots.of small tweeks and improvements, plus the job I actually went in for....VALUE FOR MONEY is HIGH it actually came in under budget.

One of our group riding the trail way had a puncture we couldn’t fix, so we called Offcamber and we walked back - they kindly fixed it at no notice, so we could complete our trip. 20 minutes later another rider had a snapped chain, so we returned and they fixed that too. Pleasant, helpful, welcoming, and professional. Highly recommended.
