Lovely place, good parking, good walkable in all weathers tracks and trails which is a massive plus, lovely views….but the DOG MUCK. Good god, why do people come to places like this and not pick up after their dogs!?! There are even bins provided. Saw loads and had to avoid it that often it ruined it for us. Wouldn’t mark it down review rating wise as it’s not up to management to enforce this, some signs maybe would help but probably not. Mindset of people these days unfortunately.

Pow Hill Country park is beautiful, tranquil & relaxing. Great for walkers,cyclists and fishing. Great for kids too.
Being a wheelchair user I was quite limited, but there were 2 routes, by the main car parks; 1, with large gravel and to too good for the wheelchair.
2, The second was perfect. There are 2 disabled parking bays. You need to drive down to the end, past the main car parks; which is free.
No toilets of facilities, but plenty of benches.

Beautiful walk, my favourite time to go is winter because if you take bird seed they will come and eat from your hands. If you’re (very) lucky you might see a red squirrel.

Must visit place if you need a quite day from the busy schedule. The drive is fine all the way and it's close to Consett if we need to buy anything. We can park the car at two levels, the first one is at the reservoir view & second is accessible to country park. Can go for walks, cycling, running, picnics and chill out. I visited on a Friday afternoon which is absolutely quite with just a couple of cars in the parking but saw none during our walk.

Really nice place to come for a walk. Red squirrels in the area too. Quiet on an evening with a huge car park providing plenty of space. Part of the car park closes at 8pm, although not an issue as a smaller car park remains available. Free parking too! Good access to the reservoir Edge, and plenty of seating available on the footpaths.

Wow!

I live in Dorset, I visited Pow Hill last week for the first time.
The is agricultural work being done but this place was still very stunning and a great walk.
Highly recommended for all the family any weather and for any outdoorsy occasion.

Just a 2 minutes drive from our usually Reservoir parking spot, this is a lovely area. Free and plentiful parking and the choice of woodland or waterside walks. We did both. Roasting hot day so not much wildlife about. Was hoping to see a red squirrel. There are numerous benches to sit and admire the view (or gulp down water like we did today). We noticed the cafe/pub nearby had a garden with picnic tables but it looked mega busy today - will try it out next time. I think we found our new go-to Sunday walk at Pow Hill.
