I have stayed at the Seacote hotel nearby as I was working in the area and had a quick visit one day after work in this park. The view is absolutely breathtaking, I love the sea in general and this place made me very happy. The weather was very nice although up on top it got fairly windy. It's a good place to have a relaxing walk and get away from the noise of the city. You can also snap a few good photos in the area as the landscape is amazing.
The shore is rocky and very calm. The rocks at the bottom of the cliffs are marked by people with some of the writing being dated in the 80s which makes it a good mediation point if you think about the history. As this is a fairly remote location you can stargaze at night as the surrounding area is dark enough to allow you to view the sky in it's full glory.

Awesome views, clear path, relatively easy walk (some steep uphill bits but not many) beside the coast down to a little cove (Fleswick bay) with a pebble beach and rocks to scramble on. Good bird watching, although the nesting area has a very distinct pong.

Visited on a windy day in October. We parked in local farm for £3 which was a short walk away from the lighthouse and coast path. Did a lovely 4km loop north along the coast path and then back to the farm. Gorgeous views of Scotland and even Isle of Man, despite poor weather. The coast path is narrow and close to the cliff, with no fencing to separate, in some areas so the walk is not for the faint hearted. Make sure dogs and children are on leads in these areas! 😋

Gorgeous place totally the opposite of the lake district. Unspoilt and not many visitors.
Get off the train in St Bees or further South.
Walk up the coast to Whitehaven. Taking in nature and the industrial past.
