A sea resort as they ones were.
Saltburn beach is inviting and has a lot to offer for all ages.
The Victorian ‘trams’ that take you up and or down to the beach, are a nice feature.
Whilst we were the place was busy, but not to busy.
A nice place to spend a day or two.
Great places where they serve good coffees and good ice creams.

My hometown and love popping in for a sea swim, especially on the day of the summer solstice! Water was lovely and clear, very busy and parking charges are extortionate at the bottom of the bank, so if you can walk down I would recommend parking at the top, but lovely place and always be my first home.

A free public beach with substantial public parking over the road. The area can also be reach from town parking when the funicular railway is working!

In recent years the standard of cafes on the beach has leapt up, with even better foods optios above. Yes above, its a very steep bank up to the much restored early Victorian town. Yet another alternative route is to either catch the miniature or walk along the beck and go up Valley Gardens - both well worth it.

Pier is doing well. All amenities.

A Truly Magical Spot
Saltburn Beach is a truly magical place in every sense of the word. When I visited, there wasn’t much obvious tourist activity, but that only added to its charm. The atmosphere was peaceful and inviting, with beautifully maintained walkways, blooming flowers, and a clean, elegant promenade. The sand is soft and pleasant to walk on, perfect for a relaxing day by the sea.
There’s free parking available on the main street, which is convenient, though reaching the beach requires descending a long set of stairs. That said, the walk down is very much part of the experience—it offers lovely views and makes the visit feel even more rewarding.

A lovely Victorian seaside town left a little behind in the modern world (not in a good way). An excellent pier but the front is dominated by tatty outlets and a tiny amusement arcade. The saving grace is the beautiful counterbalanced lifting mechanism down to the beach, to avoid the short but steep walk.

Had a walk to the end of the pier before catching the marvellous funicular up into town. The pier building and the pier itself are fab. Such a treat that they’re still there and in good condition.

Beautiful seaside town. Funicular railway down to the promenade. Massive beach with a nice pier. Couple of decent places to eat but not cheap. Fish n chips on the prom, with icecream place too. Love it there.

First time here, and the weather was perfect for us to enjoy this beautiful seaside place. Free parking on street, at the top of the famous funicular. Delightful beach, which is framed by an elegant pier. The Ship Inn was also a lovely pub.
