We held our daughter's 3rd birthday party at the Cut in the mud garden. We had been at the mud kitchen a number of times when she was a little toddler and so we knew it would be a great activity for littles from about a year up to 5 years old. We also had access to an indoor room to hold our food and drinks and our guests brought picnic blankets to eat their afternoon tea. We also booked the Darwin Room to hold some party games and birthday cake.
We met Jackie a week before the event and discussed our plans and she had everything set up perfectly for our party. The day was beautiful so we were pleased that we booked some space inside for a break from the sun. We had thought we'd only need it if it rained. I would highly recommend having a birthday party at Shropshire Wildlife Trust

The site encompasses a restored medieval building known as the Old Infirmary and a 1730s building called Queen Anne House, as well as gardens, including a herb garden established when the site was the Shrewsbury Quest, and a fruit tree garden. The centre and its gardens is open to the public (usually Monday – Saturday) and has a shop as well as conference rooms available for hire. Many Trust-run events take place here, including children's events during the summer holidays. Every year the centre receives approximately 25,000 visitors.

Interesting place to visit for both adults and children. Friendly, informative volunteers. Excellent selection of nature related good and gifts. Activities for children. Toilet and drink facilities. Located between the car park and Shrewsbury Abbey. Go visit and support a worthwhile cause.

Yesterday I hosted a 9-person 5-hour event in their conference centre, specifically the Garden Room, and it was LOVELY. The Garden Room has huge windows to let in lots of light and there was direct access to the garden, which we appreciated a lot. It was warm even though the weather was so cold. The refreshments provided were abundant and excellent quality, and they catered well for caffeine-free, vegan and gluten-free attendees. The manager was friendly and helpful, and overall we felt very well taken care of. Excellent, I wouldn't hesitate to host another event there.

Great Wilding section for the under 5’s. On a Friday it’s time for children and parents/ grand parents to play with mud and sand in a safe place whilst looking for bugs and insects of course. Coffee and drinks are also available in the Shropshire wildlife shop… it’s a lovely place
