Visited this ex RAF airbase on a cold November day. Plenty of free parking at the entrance to the airfield, but directions are non existent, so best set a Google pin before you set out, so you can find it. There's nothing left in terms of buildings, other than the memorial. The Runway is showing signs of neglect, with vegetation starting to take root. We got lucky, but on the way back there were dogs running free off lead, who were plainly reactive to each other, and the owners having no recall, so be aware if you, or you have dogs who are nervous of dogs. It's a good place to go when it's muddy elsewhere, as its all hard standing surfacing. The views are stunning, with landmark hills to one side and the Pembrokeshire coast to the other.

It’s an old airfield being repurposed as a wildlife haven, with meadows and scrubland. There are small parking areas on the edge, and is right on a quiet cycle route from St David’s. The runways are still visible, and the taxiways have been turned into foot and bridle paths around the perimeter. For us it was a very cloudy day, but the skylarks still filled the sky. Meadow Pipits, Linnets and Whitethroats were all around and easy to see. It was popular with locals and dog walkers but didn’t feel busy - it is easy to find quiet spaces. A different side of Pembrokeshire.

Dog poo everywhere. Tread carefully. On the verges and the concrete. Absolute disgrace.
