Visited for breakfast, stayed for the view. Best view over the outer Firth of Forth that we've found in a restaurant. Breakfast was top notch and very good value. Only slight quibble would be that the cafetiere needs to be brewed for longer before pushing down the plunger, but that didn't detract from an excellent full Scottish breakfast. Will definitely visit again,

Went tonight for a high tea which we were all looking forward to. Oh well what can I say. The fish and chips amazing but and it’s a big but. My mother in law ordered a salad 🤣🤣🤣🤣 what did she get 6 lettuce leafs, tablespoon of finely chopped peppers and a tablespoon on finely chopped red onion . It was a side salad not a salad. When the staff asked if everything was ok we said about the salad and they were disinterested on the few occasions when I commented about it they just shrugged it off but did offer her a free glass of wine. |Next the cakes boring and all the same taste. Scones far too large should have been 4 smaller ones and not 2 large. We had to ask for the tea, coffee and toast as they were never coming out. Had to ask for extra butter and jam and if the raspberry jam could be changed to strawberry . Yes the girl brought us 2 strawberry and another raspberry. Maybe the staff need to be more attentive with all customers. It was not busy and there were plenty of staff on shift so it should never have been like this. The young boy was the only one that seemed to be happy to be at work . The dark haired lady and man with the shoulder length hair were just going through the motions of being at work

Had a birthday meal there with my partner and his 92 yr old mum in a wheelchair. The waitress was very polite and attentive. The menu wasn't very varied and 1 item I wanted on the menu we were told was off the menu as they had ran out of 'peas', couldn't someone have gone to a shop and bought a bag of frozen peas, it's not like it was busy either. My main I had to swap with my partner as it looked disgusting when it arrived. I chose salmon with red pesto and potatoes and it arrived and looked and tasted like someone had just fried the salmon and put it on a plate of boiled potatoes with a tin of tomatoes thrown over it. Puddings were nice, I had the lemon tart with blackcurrant sorbet, was very tasty. The starters of haggis bon bons were nice but would have liked more than 3. 2nd visit but may consider somewhere else in future as it was not cheap and I don't think over all value for money.

Just returned home from what was supposed to be an enjoyable celebratory meal at the Seaview restaurant for our 49th wedding anniversary. I would not recommend this restaurant for dinner to anyone. Meal was booked over a week ago thinking it would be busy being Easter Monday, only 7 diners were in. The menu we were presented with bore no resemblance to the one my husband downloaded from the website. No sirloin steaks were on menu and the only 2 vegetarian options on presented menu were unavailable as well as 2 of the 6 starters also unavailable and a dessert was also substituted. The Cullen skink I chose for starter clearly stated accompanied by mini cheese scones. Instead I got a huge sweet tasting scone with some toasted cheese on top - not very appetising. The food was hot but very ordinary. A very disappointing meal for a special occasion. We will stick to a nearby hotel for any future meals which have always been excellent.

Cannot fault our lunch experience. The service was courteous and friendly. We had a little wait on the food, but as it was obviously freshly prepared, it wasn’t a problem. Gave us time to appreciate the magnificent view. My sea bass was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. It was delicious. The vegetables had just the right amount of bite to them, not too undercooked or soggy. The others had the chicken and haggis stack, no complaints there either. The lemon tart with blackcurrant sorbet was lovely, just the right blend of sweet and sharp. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Had a 60th birthday meal high tea and offered the Aithernie room to give us some privacy which was greatly appreciated. We were very well looked after. Special shout out to how absolutely stunning the table looked, really lovely touch. Food was fab and the cakes were delightful. Highly recommended. Thank you!

I don’t normally write reviews but after visiting this hotel I had to. Waited 5 minutes for front office staff to come to the desk, no one in the restaurant offered us water or came to ask what we wanted for lunch until about 10 minutes after we’ve seated, food wasn’t the best, staff seemed like they didn’t even want to even be their. Best part was the views and surrounding areas.
