90% of the time, I leave 5 star reviews because I'm a firm believer of 2nd chances, which I gave here (and a 3rd) - after all, we're all only human. Firstly, there were some good experiences, for example, WCM fixed my mini roof light today which I didn't ask them to do, which is nice. They also have great response times and a highly professional demeanor when communicating. Unfortunately, a fair few things were a let down. When I bought this camper, it was important to me that it either didn't rely on gas, or relied on gas available in France. I was advised that the gas connector and bottles that came with the van were available throughout Europe which was not the case, and then quoted thousands to get LPG bottles fitted AFTER the sale had been closed. Similarly, I asked several times to confirm that a spare toilet cassette could be purchased because I needed a bigger one ideally, but 2 would do the job, and it was confirmed to me that they could be. It turns out after a lot of faff (also after the sale has been closed) that they couldn't be and I had to fight for them to find me a spare cassette. The toilet leaked into the outside cabinet and through to the floor and was not resolved on a return visit where it was supposed to be sorted (remained for a year). They DID diagnose and resolve an egr valve issue which I was very happy with. 50% of the snags I went back to get fixed within the warranty period were not fixed on my return visit (4 hours away from home) and their solution was to send me items that didn't resolve the issues - they weren't properly diagnosed. I received the van back dirty inside and with a broken seatbelt..no big deal on it's own really but alongside the other issues, annoying. I was then invited to do a hab check/service etc a year later and voiced apprehension in doing so since half of the previous issues we'd come back for were unresolved. The offer made to me was that if I booked in for habcheck/MOT then they'd look to resolve the remaining issues - for which I was then charged for the parts for when they were clearly issues that should have been fixed in the warranty period but weren't. I also paid for a full habcheck today despite no damp readings due to belongings in the way which I was not advised to remove...even if I should have known this, the many openly accessible areas were not damp checked either. On a positive note, despite there being several reviews about the lady at reception having a lack of customer service skills, she has actually for me always been very organised and willing. So a very mixed experience overall.

Wow wow wow. Excellent service from the salesman Chris and all the after service team. Can't fault them. After buying a brand new motorhome from Davan with false promises and water pouring in we were very wary of dealers. West country motorhomes have excelled in every aspect. We can't be more happy with them and probably won't buy from anyone else in the future. We totally trust them and will be having all our servicing and modifications with them in the future. Can't praise them enough. Thanks guys x

Great service department, manages to look at my motorhome at short notice to investigate a damp reading on hab check.
No returning to WCM to collect after a few days they informed me that they were able to reseal and dry out the area. Many thanks

We were really sad to collect our brand new Baily Endeavour B64 van only to be told there was already a fault with the sensors, and no one thought to let us know before we left. They could have called to delay collection and repaired it before we made the long drive there, but they didn't. A three hour round trip for us!.
This really spoiled what should have been a special day for us, and the flat and cold reception we received when we got there was most unwelcoming and frosty, which we couldn't understand but later reslised why..
After being told we could go to a local Ford dealer to get the sensor changed, and it was a quick fix, we took delivery due to it being such a long way for us to go back at a later date. We then had to make our own arrangements to get it fixed ourselves. Also, we found out that you need to buy the gas bottle separately, as an extra, which i find disgusting. Why supply the cooker without the gas? Then we had to ask for the electric leads as they were not in the van, and we wouldn't have got them if my husband hadn't asked.

On the whole, I thought the service was poor, considering the amount of money we spent with them, and there's lots of set up to be done, without any guidance once collected. The salesman told us it was too much to go through and we would be better to do itcat our leisure. Mmm! Think he just wanted us out of there.
Would I recommend them. No absolutely not! There are many more helpful places out there with more friendly and caring staff. This experience really spoiled our purchase, and I feel very let down by the company..

After taking our brand new van to a garage to get sensors fixed, we found out that the radio didn't work due to the aeirial fin being snapped, and. at some point, glued back into place. Wrong sensor parts were put on the van before we collected it, and actually, they were for the wrong model van. We were advised to return the van asap, as it had been tampered with and not the standard of a brand new van.
We rejected the van, sent photos of the pre-existing damage, pointed out the sensors issue to West Country Motor Homes, and then had to fight to get a refund.
We lost money on this van, as we had filled the tank before we returned it, which the garage refused to refund and alo on insurance etc, so I would think very carefully before purchasing anything from this company, and personally, i would never go back. I hope this is a one-off, but I can't get past the fact they would have known about these issues and were happy to, we dupe us with a faulty van in order to wash their hands of it.
Poor shoddy and very unprofessional, they did more damage than good for their business.
Even their own staff who listened to our complaints, told us it was " a Friday afternoon van" but personally, it may have been an extra demonstrator and passed off as a new order.
A friend who had bought one from a different company told me their cushions were all wrapped and everything fixed in place. The one we collected was not.

West Country Motor Homes, shame on you! Hope you are proud of your non existent customer commitment and quality of sales.

They wouldn’t do a recall because we hadn’t bought from them - fair enough. Then they said they would. They claimed for the part, then phoned us and said they wouldn’t do it. Because they had claimed for the part, it prevented another approved garage from claiming it and doing the work.
We have since received a phone call and an apology for the mix up, which was appreciated. Thank you Kevin.

Wonderful selection of top quality campers.
Probably the best in UK. Good sales staff too.
We looked around and decided to do a swap.
Hubby found a comfy chair to arrange finance.
There was a TV blaring unnecessarily loudly at the empty room so hubby switched it off.
Enter irate woman who scolded my husband. I grabbed his hand and we left!
The irate woman is the shop assistant for the accessory shop and sits in the after sales entrance.
If you go to WCMH avoid said woman is my advice. 😉
